BULGARI HOTEL MILANO

The Bulgari Hotel Milano attracts a jet-set crowd, even just for an aperitivo in its stylish bar and gardens. And staying here is the cherry on top of a chic Milan visit. The hotel is sleek, sophisticated, and modern tucked away in what seems like a private sanctuary bordering Milan’s Botanical Gardens. The rooms are adorned in cream colored linen wallpaper with Burmese teak and graphite-dyed oak. Bathrooms include black granite tubs and walk-in closets. It’s an escape in the middle of an energetic city.

Four Seasons Milan

FOUR SEASONS MILAN

The Four Seasons always delivers first-class service and their location in Milan is no exception. A 15th century convent turned sophisticated retreat, the Four Seasons Milan exudes Old World charm. The hotel is located right in the center of Milan’s fashion district tucked on a narrow, picturesque street surrounded by flagship designer stores. For the fashion-loving shoppers looking to snag the latest designer styles, this is the perfect location to explore the city in between wandering in and out of luxury boutiques. Aside from fashion, Museo Bagatti Valsecchi and Museo di Milano are also nearby. The rooms are comfortably sized with a muted color palette and classic décor. Their spa is also a perfect wind-down activity, featuring a peaceful indoor pool under brick arches.

Mandarin Oriental, Milan

MANDARIN ORIENTAL MILAN

In the heart of Milan’s fashion district is the Mandarin Oriental Milan. The hotel is a modern and stylish amalgamation of four 18th century palazzos all interconnected with plum accent and warm wood details throughout. On property, there’s Seta which is listed as one of the world’s 50 best restaurants. To relax after a long day of sightseeing or shopping, there is a heated indoor pool to enjoy. Rooms are lavish warm wooden floors with black and white marble accented bathrooms. It’s a wonderful luxury accommodation for a visit to Milan.

Park Hyatt Milan

PARK HYATT MIALN

The Park Hyatt Milan is located right on Galleria Vittorio Emanuelle II, the iconic 19th century shopping gallery right by the Duomo. The building was once a bank, featuring Baroque elegant details on the exterior. Conveniently located for first-time Milan visitors, the Park Hyatt Milan is steps from some of the most famous attractions in the city and also some of the best luxury shopping. The contemporary style and luxury accommodations have attracted high clientele. The rooms are framed in cream colored travertine, featuring spacious bedrooms and bathrooms.

Principe di Savoia

HOTEL PRINCIPE DI SAVOIA

Part of the Dorchester Collection, Principe di Savoia is one of Milan’s grand hotels. The décor is rich and classic with Art Deco features. The concierge team is well-connected and very attentive to ensure your trip is perfectly curated and organized. And you won’t have to worry about calling cabs every time you’d like to go to city center, the hotel provides guests with complimentary car service. Because the hotel is quite large, there are over 250 rooms but the hotel is dedicated to making it feel intimate with catered service. The rooms are decadently designed with luxurious all white marble bathrooms.

What are some of the best boutique hotels in Milan?

Hotel Viu

HOTEL VIU MILAN

Though the hotel is not in city center, Hotel Viu is a reliably great option when staying in Milan. The hotel is part of Marriott Bonvoy, which means you can use/earn points. The rooms are sleek and modern, offered at great rates, and the staff at the hotel are always very friendly and attentive. This was my home away from home during all of my work trips to Milan in my previous life. There is a small rooftop pool surrounded by a stone terrace and if jet lag is hitting, Giancarlo Morelli is a Michelin recommended restaurant on property. If you don’t mind being a bit out of city center (the hotel has plenty of cabs that come by to drive guests), the Hotel Viu is a great deal: a wonderful stay and a bit of a well-kept secret.

Vico Milan

VICO MILAN

Vico Milan is located between city center and the Navigli district – a stylish hotel with wooden doors opening to a private and serene courtyard. Vico is an intimate boutique hotel with only 7 rooms and is housed in a building that was an unused showroom of the Baccheschi Berti family and a once factory for Legnano racing bikes. This is where to stay when you want to have a more local feel to your visit. There isn’t a restaurant on property but you can get local favorite restaurants and cafes as recommendations to explore.
